Although five-pointed stars have held many meanings throughout history, Asian folklore suggests that each point symbolizes the five elements of Wu Xing: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. These magnificent lanterns were also used during the Indian Diwali festival, or the Festival of Lights, to celebrate the triumph of good over evil.
