A Message from Our Head Honcho

Friends,

No one can tell you how to feel or how to respond to a SCOTUS ruling - whether it’s guns, Miranda rights, reproductive rights, or LGBTQ+ rights.

I want to express respect for our amazing and diverse customers and team; and to acknowledge and respect the diversity of beliefs that lies within any group of individuals and the ways each of us chooses to live our values as we respond to our ever changing world. How we experience, process, and respond to the daily news is unique to each individual. I encourage everyone to make space for one another to respond in their own way.

For years, I’ve publicly shared my beliefs in equality through Silver in the City. Equality and inclusion is part of our values. I will continue to support every person’s right to make choices about their bodies. I will continue to support LGBTQ+ rights, including the right to be married. I will continue to support efforts to address issues of racial disparity in our community.

As the fight to keep abortion legal in Indiana now turns to our statehouse, we’ve made donations to Planned Parenthood Indiana, ACLU Indiana, and the Women 4 Change Action fund, which goes directly to their work in the Statehouse lobbying for laws that protect and support ALL women. We’ve also donated to the National Network of Abortion Funds to help women continue to safely access this healthcare.

For this and every other political issue there are more ways than donations to express ourselves: vote, call or write your elected officials, rally, volunteer, seek and share resources, but most importantly, take care of yourself and those around you.
